Homeschooling with baby

Probably one of the most common questions I was asked during my pregnancy other than the obvious was "Are you still going to homeschool the girls?"  To which my answer was always "Of course, why wouldn't we?"  Or the more forward version of what everyone was thinking "How on earth are you going to homeschool with a baby?"  Since I had never taken on this challenge before, I honestly didn't know the answer to that question.  Depending on my mood, I answered either flippantly - "Very carefully", or honestly - "We'll figure it out.  I'm sure it will take a while to settle into a schedule with a baby, but that's the beauty of homeschool.  You have much more flexibility."  Now that Zachariah is here, we have settled into a semblance of a routine.  I try to get the schedule for the week printed off on Monday morning so that even when I'm otherwise occupied with Zachariah the girls know what they're supposed to do.  Zachariah eats, sleeps and is held by all.  Yesterday, I had a doctor appointment so Celestia took a turn holding her brother for me to get ready.  She must have been really close to finishing her work, because she decided to work and babysit at the same time.

By the time I had taken a shower and gotten dressed, the girls were both finished with their schoolwork for the day, and peacefully snuggling with their brother on the sofa.  I love homeschooling!  :)

I LOVE IT! I love that he's the family baby! But my dear, your blog header needs a little updating, don't you think? =) Give that wee man a little squeeze from me!

Yep, the header is woefully out of date. We're having family photos taken this weekend, and I'm planning on revamping it with some of them! :)
