Last doctor update

I had my last doctor appointment yesterday!  Everything is looking great!  My blood pressure is still in a good range (YAY for no blood pressure issues this time!!!) and I had gained 1 pound.  I must say that I'm pretty happy with that, as we have been running so much lately that I hadn't been grocery shopping in at least two weeks.  Instead of the healthy food that I normally try to feed my family, we have eaten a lot of junk that was in the pantry, and eaten out quite a lot as well.  Not always the best plan if you're trying to keep weight under control!  Zachariah's heartbeat was looking good at 132 bpm.  Now, for the good part...  I am dilated to somewhere between a 3 and a 3 1/2, and 60% effaced!  We still have an induction scheduled for Tuesday, but my doctor said that she wouldn't be surprised if she sees me this weekend!  WooHoo!!!  We're almost there!  :)

Latest baby update

I went to the doctor on Tuesday, and everything is looking great!  I didn't gain any weight, and my blood pressure is still good.  I haven't dilated any more, so still a 2 1/2, but I'm now 40% effaced.  Zachariah's heartbeat was going strong (I forgot to ask what the heart rate was though).  And now for the big news...  Ladies and gentlemen, we have an induction date!  For those of you who don't know, I have a history of needing to be induced, even when I actually go into labour.  The official date is October 5th!  We can always cancel and reschedule if we feel that I'm not ready yet, but I'm hoping we won't need to.  Especially since Jonathan will be going to Canada two weeks later.  Anyway, that's the story.  We're getting close now!  :)

Happy 11th to my little monkey!

Yesterday was my "baby's" 11th birthday!  She pointed out that she wouldn't be the baby for long, and I informed her that she would always be my baby!  lol

The girls had spent the night at Nana and Papa's house, so Jonathan dropped me off there on his way to work with our traditional birthday breakfast cupcakes!

We always let the girls pick where they want to eat for their birthday dinner.  This year, Tatiana chose to eat at the aquarium.  As it is not open in the evening, we had a birthday lunch instead, and Jonathan surprised Tatiana by taking a long lunch so he could join us.

My parents hadn't been to the aquarium in years, and really enjoyed our time there.

After a long day with the animals, we went home, and Tatiana opened her gifts.

She got books.

Clothes

a sketch pad

and Alice in Wonderland!

We had a wrapping paper fight...

started by Daddy, of course...

and snuggled up on the sofa to watch her new movie.

Tatiana said it was the best birthday ever, which I'm pretty sure she said last year, too.  I hope she'll always feel that way.  Happy birthday, Little Monkey!  We love you lots!!!

37 weeks... OOPS!

One day late.  Sorry folks.  We realised as we were going to bed last night, and I wasn't about to get up and get dressed again for Jonathan to take a picture!

What a week!!!

Last week was SO busy!!!  We had a grand total of two full days home for school, and the rest was a little here, and a little there.  Nonetheless, we managed to get everything done with a field trip on Tuesday to boot!  You may remember last spring when we tried to go to the aquarium, but ended up just wandering around downtown instead.  I've been wanting to take the girls back to the Old Red Courthouse when we had more time ever since, but just haven't done so.  When I got a notice about homeschool day last Tuesday, it was a perfect opportunity, so off we went!  They got to participate in a mock trial.

Tatiana was the defendant, and she did a great job.

Oops!  Wrong hand, Baby!

Celestia was on the jury, and got to help decide the outcome.

Tatiana's side won the trial!

They also got a bit of a lesson in how the government works, and specifically how the court system is set up.

New friends were made.

We had lunch under the trees by the JFK Memorial...

and fed the birds.

After lunch, it was time to go back in and browse through the museum.

We had such a great day, and I have many more amazing pictures that I'll save for a later post!  :)

After the field trip, it was off to childbirth classes for Jonathan and me, and then I finally got to go home and crash!

Wednesday morning I ran all over Dallas, shopping for Tatiana's birthday.  In two hours flat, left Jonathan's work and went to Target, Office Max, Payless Shoes, Half Price Books, Justice for Girls, Corner Bakery, put gas in the truck, and managed to make it back in time to pick Jonathan up for our doctor appointment!  Whew!  We then swung by my parents' house to pick up the girls for our last sonogram of the pregnancy!  They weren't able to get any interesting pictures, because Zachariah is in a perfect position for labour!  Great for me, but he's facing my back, so no fun third trimester photo ops.  Oh well.  What we were able to do was confirm that he's looking great!  His lungs are developed and we were able to see him practising breathing.  His little heart was plugging away in the 130s, and he's got quite a lot of hair!  They estimate his weight to be around 6 pounds 9 ounces, so if he puts on a half a pound a week from now until my due date, he'll be in the 8 and a half pound range, which we know I can have because I've done it before.  Yipee!!!  When I went in to see the doctor, Zachariah had woken up, and was a bit more active, so his heart rate was much higher - in the 150s - which is exactly what it's supposed to do.  I had my first cervical check and was dilated to about two and a half, which the doctor was very pleased with.  Jonathan joked that I'm now halfway to where I will stall out.  (I've never made it past a four without medical intervention, so we'll see if that pattern holds!)  We will be scheduling an induction for the first week in October, should I not go into labour before then.  Only two weeks to go!!!

Thursday was not particularly exciting but still busy, as we all four trouped to the dentist to get our teeth cleaned.  That night, I went home, happy to have the first evening since the Monday before (Yes, that was the 6th of September!) at home.  I heaved a great sigh of relief, and put my feet up on the sofa.  After all, a pregnant momma deserves to put her feet up every now and then, yes?  Perhaps, then you may understand my horror when I turned on my computer Friday morning to check my E-mail for the first time since Monday, and discovered the reminder for a mandatory homeschool co-op meeting on Thursday night.  Oh shoot!  You mean I had that night off of work for a reason???  I think I need to invest in a crackberry that will remind me when I'm supposed to do things.  Clearly, the calendar I carry in my purse is no longer cutting it.

Just to close out my post with some fun pictures, here is Jonathan playing with his new toys.  You may remember the new addition to our guitar wall a couple of weeks ago, but I don't think I mentioned the half stack Behringer bass amp that came with the bass.  *Sigh* a boy and his toys!  ;)

36 Weeks

It's getting so close now!!!

A couple of weeks ago, my sweet girls threw me a surprise baby shower.  They worked SO hard, and it was absolutely the best shower ever!  We had a yummy cake,

and I got some of the best gifts, including the car seat from my parents!  Whew, I was worried about that one!

We played several games, and just had a great time eating and spending time with friends.

I don't have a ton of pictures, but someone (Ahem, Jamie!) hasn't sent me the ones she promised. ;)  Thanks, girls!  :)
