Art projects gone wild!
My mother is a packrat. It's true. She can't help it. Some of the things she had horded throughout the years were scraps of fabric. I remember looking through them as a child and thinking how cool they were, but NONE were big enough to do anything with... Or so I thought. Now, don't ask me when these scraps migrated to my garage, but I found them recently when I was out there working, and they inspired me. I've been bored with my handbag lately, and wishing for something new. Unfortunately, I just can't justify spending money on a new bag right now, when I have a perfectly serviceable one already. Out came the sewing machine and fabric scraps. They're just as cool and colourful as I remembered them! I know that some of them came from a quiet book my mother made for me to sit in church with. Some, I suspect, are probably older than I am. Still others came from sewing projects I have done throughout the years. The result, I think, is a fun, funky, one-of-a-kind oversized handbag, and matching wallet! Love it!!! :)

love them!!! What a great idea. I only wish I was cool enough to have that much scrap fabric lying around.
Oh what a neat bag!
Cute and fun! Did you have a pattern?
No, no pattern. I just threw stuff together until I liked what I had. :)
that's fun because it's meaningful
